FAQs

Q: WHERE DO I PARK? A: Want hassle free parking for Lititz Fire and Ice?  There’s no need for long walks and fighting for parking when we will have shuttle buses running from various locations to our drop off point right at the edge of the Fire and Ice event attractions! The shuttle will pick you up and take you to the Shuttle Drop Off location at the edge of the event area. To return to your parked car, just go back to the same Shuttle Drop Off location and wait for the shuttle to come back! Two shuttles will run continuously as they fill up, departing and returning as needed, from 4:30 pm to 9:30 pm on Friday the 14th and 9:30 am to 10:00 pm on Saturday the 15th , so you shouldn’t have to wait long for your trip in or out! Click here for information on Shuttle Parking Lot locations The Shuttles are provided by Venture Lititz and the Lititz Lions for the cost of $1 per person (cash only). Q: IS THE EVENT FREE? A: Yes, you can view the ice, watch carvings, and listen to music for FREE!  The pyrotechnic show asks for a small donation of a $1 a person to cover costs.  Same goes for shuttles, $1 per person. Q: ARE THERE ATMs? A: Yep, three!  BB&T Bank and Citizens Bank right in the center of town, and the Wilbur Chocolate will have a mobile ATM beside their retail store. Q: IS THERE HANDICAP PARKING? A: Yes, in the parking lot just off of North Lane, it will have signage denoting it as Handicap Parking.  Enter the lot via North Sturgis Lane (from Cedar Street, turn onto North Lane, and then right onto Sturgis Lane). Click here for map and directions. Q: WHERE DO I PARK IF I DON’T WANT TO RIDE A SHUTTLE? A: Warwick High School has parking (301 W. Orange Street) and some parking is available in the rear of Lititz Elementary (20 S. Cedar Street), and there is street parking around town.  There are lots off of North Cedar Street near Stoll & Wolfe Distillery and North Water Street near Appalachian Brewing Company.  Several churches in town offer parking for a small donation. Q: WHO CARVES THE ICE SCULPTURES? A: DiMartino Ice Company, located in Jeannette, PA hand crafts all the ice sculptures at the Lititz Fire & Ice.  There will be live carvings Friday and Saturday, click here for a schedule and locations! Q: HOW MANY ICE SCULPTURES IN 2020? A: We have 72 currently! Q: HOW DO YOU KEEP THE ICE FROM MELTING? A: We don’t, that is all in Mother Nature’s hands.  Once ice is out, carved and ready to go…that’s it, you can’t pack it back up.  It stays up till it melts, if it is cold, they are up for days…weeks even.  If we get a weird heat wave, they melt. Q: DO YOU RESCHEDULE DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER? A: Nope, this is a rain, sleet, snow, heat wave event.  Our ice carvers do events all over Pennsylvania, they are booked every weekend October to March, Presidents Day weekend is our weekend, it happens then, no matter what. Q: RESTROOM LOCATIONS A: Restrooms will be set up in the parking lot beside the Parkview, along South Sturgis Lane behind Matthew 25 Thrift Shop, and at Lititz Springs Park. Q: ARE STREETS CLOSED? A:  On Friday, the 14th,  from approximately 3pm to  Saturday the 15th at 10pm Broad Street is closed from Orange Street to Front Street.  East Main Street is closed from Broad Street to Water Street and the first half block of West Main Street is closed. Q: SHOULD WE BRING THE STROLLER? A: Fire & Ice covers most of downtown Lititz and if you attend Saturday, the Carnival/Chili/Vendor Fair is just west of downtown through the Lititz Springs Park.  Lots of ground to cover, it might be worth it if your children are very little, but we would suggest that “double” strollers may not be wise. Q: CAN I BRING MY DOG? A: It is a free outdoor event on the streets, so no restrictions like any other day in downtown Lititz, but it is probably better for your furry friends to stay home.  This is not really a pet friendly event due to the large crowds of people, weather and the potential for pets to be frightened by noise from the fire shows and ice carvings.  Your furry friend will be much safer and happier staying home. Q: HOW DO I PLAN MY VISIT? A: Break it down by days: Friday night 5pm to 9pm – watch the pyrotechnic show by Stray Production Services, view live ice carvings around town, sit on a throne of ice or ride a giant ice dragon.  Enjoy a meal at one of our local restaurants or pubs, but also one of the many food truck vendors set up on Broad or the 100 block of East Main Street. Come spend the evening and enjoy historic downtown Lititz and shop local retailers! Saturday – Walk around and check out all the sculptures around town, catch the carving action between 9am and 12pm. Dine at a food truck or local restaurant, listen to live music and kids entertainment 11 am – 7 pm. Head over to Warwick High School, 301 W. Orange Street for the Chili Cook-off, Kids Carnival, and Vendor Fair.  Event will run 11am to 3pm and you can try chili from 20 different chefs.  The event raises money for the local charities participating in the chili cook-off. $10 adult admission and $5 for children under 12, if they want to sample chili. Admission Buttons can be purchased at Stauffer’s of Kissel Hill (Lititz location), Bombergers, and Dosie Dough, and at the high school during the event.  There is a limit of 1,500 admission buttons sold for the event.  You can also order online by clicking here! Carnival – 11am to 3pm visit the indoor carnival at the High School, Unlimited play wristbands are $10, 1 ticket is $.50, 5 tickets $2.50 and 15 for $6.00.  Plenty of food, activities, face painting, coloring/craft stations, inflatables, games and contests. Vendor Fair – 11am to 3pm check out local vendors and businesses showcasing their products and services. Sunday and Monday – walk around downtown Lititz and enjoy the ice sculptures, dine at local restaurants, and shop at the local retailers. Where to Stay STAY WHERE YOU CAN GET AWAY FROM IT ALL – AND STILL BE A PART OF IT ALL. Relax and unwind —then go out and enjoy all there is to see and do!     Click Here for Lititz area Lodging and Hotels Need more info?  Check out LititzPA.com or follow us on Facebook @LititzFireandIce and @DowntownLititz.  Or send us a message on Facebook.
